PETRIA Thomas continued her outstanding form at the Australian Olympic Trials when the 28-year-old produced a sensational heat swim of 2:06.01 for the 200 fly &#8211; fifth-fastest global performance all-time  &#8211; in an event in which she took Olympic silver in &#39;96 and bronze in &#39;00.<\/p>\n<p>The Australian Institute of Sport veteran, coached by former Olympian Glenn Beringen, was just two-tenths of a second outside Susie O&#39;Neill&#39;s Commonwealth and Aussie record and 0.23 off the world record held by Pole Otylia Jedrzejczak, which was set in Berlin at the European Champs in 2002. Thomas was 0.72 of a second under her previous PR of 2:06.73. <\/p>\n<p>Earlier this morning, Ian Thorpe qualified fastest for tonight&#39;s 100 free semifinals in a time of 49.52.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Stephen J.
