100 meter freestyle<\/b>
\nThere are 11 heats in the 100 free. We\u2019ll note sub 55-mid efforts as they happen\u2026<\/p>\n

In heat 4, Auburn\u2019s Leslie Lunsmann swims 55.57. It\u2019s holding up through heats 5, 6. 7\u2026<\/p>\n

In heat 8, Jessi Perruquet, North Carolina goes 55.38, the fastest time going into the final three heats.<\/p>\n

Heat 9. There are three 54s in this heat: Heather Kemp, Auburn, with a great final 10 meters, 54.83; Becky Short 54.86, lacey boutwell, 54.95<\/p>\n

Heat 10: In a battle of SEC freshmen, Georgia\u2019s Kara Lynn Joyce knocks down the fastest time thus far, 54.40, with Auburn\u2019s Christina Swindle at 54.73.<\/p>\n

Heat 11: In the final heat, Auburn\u2019s Eileen Coparropa turned on her patented final 25-meter sprint, to touch in 54.43. South Carolina\u2019s Jennifer Van Assen, also used a fast finish to finish second in 54.54. UCLA\u2019s Sara Platzer, who led for more than 85 meters, was third in 54.57.<\/p>\n

A final cut: 54.88; B final: 55.56.<\/p>\n
