THERE'S order in the court and order in
the pool as the Princeton Tigers — quadruple-defending Ivy League women's champ and winner of 14 of the league's 27 championships — have clawed their way back to the top of the heap after two days of competition here.

Two relay wins and a 1-2-3 finish in the breaststroke powered Coach Susan Teeter's Lady Tigers to a slight lead over Harvard, 902 – 885.5 with Yale (798) third. Princeton juniors Stephanie Hsiao and Kelly Hannigan were individual winners for the Tigers

Hsiao swims during the summer for Coach Dave Salo's powerhouse Irvine Novas team in Southern California and as a prepster at Irvine High swam on the Vaqueros' national high school record-setting 200 medley relay. Her pr is a 1:02.43 from last season's meet, which is just a tenth off the Ivy League record of 1:02.34 by former Tiger Carwai Seto from 1992.

Princeton opened Friday night with a win in the 200 medley relay, finishing in 1:42.78, and ended the night with a win in the 800 free relay, finishing in 7:26.78.

Hannigan won the 400 IM in 4:19.10, but it was the 100 breaststroke that gave Princeton a load of momentum heading into Saturday. Lauren Rossi's time of 1:04.96 was better than any other team in the league, but it was only good enough for third in this race. Hsiao won the race in 1:02.65, while Sarah Schaffer finished second in 1:04.71.

WOMEN'S IVY LEAGUE SWIMMING & DIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS

BLODGETT POOL

HARVARD UNIVERSITY CAMBRIDGE, MA.

FEB. 27, 2004

25YD.
