MASSACHUSETTS\u2019 men and Richmond women are the leaders after the first day of competition at the Atlantic 10 Conference Swimming and Diving Championships at the Flickinger Aquatic Center.<\/p>\n<p>Massachusetts totaled 257 points, while St. Bonaventure is in second at 200.  La Salle (145.5) is third, followed by George Washington (130) in fourth place, Xavier (114) in fifth, Fordham (87) in sixth, Rhode Island (85.5) in seventh and Duquesne (73) in eighth. <\/p>\n<p>Massachusetts junior Justin Zeimetz won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.84.  He teamed with senior Sean Collins, junior Ryan Matthews, and freshman Gordon Leonard to place first in the 200-yard free relay with a time of 1:22.84.<\/p>\n<p>The St. Bonaventure relay team of senior Morgan Hagerman, junior Seth Johnson, sophomore Adrian Blaszczak, and freshman Dan Freeland won the 400-yard medley relay in a time of 3:26.04.  Blaszczak, the A-10\u2019s 2003 Most Outstanding Rookie Performer, captured first in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 1:52.30.<\/p>\n<p>La Salle freshman Sean Connors-McBride won the 500-yard freestyle in 4:32.90, while classmate Karo Isajan placed first in the one-meter diving competition with a score of 287.40. <\/p>\n<p>On the women\u2019s side, Richmond totaled 268 points, while St. Bonaventure is in second place at 172.  Massachusetts (142) is in third, followed by Fordham (126) in fourth place, George Washington (111) in fifth, Duquesne (89) in sixth, Xavier (88) in seventh, La Salle (72) in eighth, and Rhode Island (60) in ninth.<\/p>\n<p>Richmond claimed both relay events of the day to go with two individual first place finishes.  The 400-yard medley relay team of freshman Michelle Coombs, junior Mary Adams, and seniors Casey Dluhos and Mo Sabri placed first in a time of 3:48.64, breaking the previous A-10 record of 3:50.08.  Adams, Coombs, Savri and sophomore Brooke Boncher captured first in the 200-yard free relay in 1:32.77.  They surpassed the previous pool record of 1:33.71.  Adams, the A-10\u2019s 2003 Most Outstanding Performer, won the 200-yard IM in 2:03.19, qualifying her for the NCAA B qualifying meet.  Boncher, 2003 Most Outstanding Rookie Performer, took first in the 50-yard free in 23.00.
