THE No. 4 women's swimming and diving team and the No. 5 men's team swept Tennessee Saturday afternoon in the final dual meet of the season. The women (11-2, 5-2 SEC) handed the Lady Vols a 129-103 loss and the men (9-2, 5-1 SEC) gave No. 13 UT a 129-109 loss. The women's team won or swam the fastest time in eight of the 13 events. Florida posted one NCAA automatic qualifying time, three provisional times and three NCAA Diving Zones qualifying scores.

Women’s Meet
“We’ve been telling the team all week to go into this meet with an open mind,” Colella said. “They swam tough against the No. 2-ranked program in the country and did a great job of standing up and racing. [Megan] Tomes was awesome today. She came from behind to win the 200y freestyle and that was a huge effort. Even though we don’t like to lose, we can’t be totally disappointed. Florida swam all over us last year and they didn’t do that to us in this meet.”

Parrington’s divers opened the meet in fine fashion by amassing 11 points for the Big Orange. Junior Lauryn McCalley (Moultrie, Ga.) posted a season-high 300.97 to capture the one-meter springboard title. Florida followed up with a pair of NCAA Zone B qualifying marks from Nicole Bolt (284.84) and Kristen Connor (281.39). The Lady Vols finished in third place with a 1:53.46 by junior Jessica Blevins (Bluefield, W.Va.), junior Kristin McGrath (Durango, Colo.), freshman Julia Lutz (Lilburn, Ga.) and freshman Sarah Ridgway (St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands).

Florida swam well in the individual event opening 1,000y freestyle as Meredith Green took the event title with a 9:53.80, Katie Bell finished in second place with a 9:56.30 and Jamie Tannhauser took third with a 10:02.31. She was steady against some quality competition and was able to get up for the events. Kylee did some things well and bounced back from a couple tough meets, while Brittany showed more confidence and her scores were not indicative of the good things she did today.”

After returning to the swim portion of the schedule, Florida’s Rebecca Harper posted a provisional in the 200y butterfly with a 2:01.34 to claim the event title. The sophomore now has won 20 events this season.

Sioui took first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:39.74 and won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:50.67.

Senior Chris Kellam (Mt. Wilcox scored a 343.35 for a third-place finish, Schmidt finished in fourth with a score of 316.42.

Tennessee seniors Andrew Bree, Evan Fischer, Jamie Graves, Evan Nylander and Raymond Rosal were honored before the last home meet of the season.

"Florida swam great today," head coach John Trembley said. "They are clearly a top-five team. Raymond (Rosal) showed a lot of spirit today. Casey (Dauw) swam a very nice 500 freestyle for the win and captain Andrew Bree finished a great home career with a win in his specialty."

Rosal ended the last home meet of his career on a high note by out-touching Gabriel Mangabeira in the 50-yard freestyle in 20.87 seconds.

"It was a good swim for the last home meet," Rosal said. "It was a tough meet against a good team, but we did have a couple of strong races."

Bree won his final swim in his home pool by winning the 200 yard-breaststroke in a time of 2:02.33. Bree also finished second in the 200-yard individual medley (1:52.43).

"I enjoyed the meet today," Bree said. "It was good to see the stands full of people and we'll continue to look towards the NCAA championships. The competition was tough today, but hopefully we'll give them a run at the end of the season."

Graves finished second in the 200-yard butterfly behind NCAA champion Adam Sioui of Florida.

Sophomore Bryan Goldberg finished second in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:40.49. Jones won the event with 388.65 points and topped Tarantino's score of 352.79. The pair also finished two-three in the one-meter event, with Jones taking second behind Florida's Zach Wilcox.

"I was pleased with Phillip's consistency today even though he was beat (in the one-meter) by the defending NCAA champion," Tennessee diving coach Dave Parrington said. "Phil is diving tired as the result of a hectic academic schedule and we are seeing some of the early effects from that. Jevon had a good three-meter and Venditti is showing some good signs of improvement."

Event 9 Women 50 Yard Freestyle<br
