DALLAS, January 22. THE No. 9 SMU women's swimming & diving team dominated North Texas Wednesday night at Perkins Natatorium winning 158-80 to improve to 1-1 on the year. <\/p>\n

SMU won the first 11 events of the night, beginning with a 200 medley relay victory by Dallas Marshall, Laura Pomeroy, Martina Hrdinova and Celina Lemmen. The foursome won the night's first event with a time of 1:47.23. Senior All-American Andrea Cassidy won the 1000 free next with a time of 10:07.59, bettering her previous season best time in the event of 10:07.77. <\/p>\n

Senior Dallas Marshall won next, touching in with a time of 1:52.73 in the 200 free. Freshman Michelle Vlasakova followed Marshall's convincing win with a first place time of 24.64 in the 50 free. <\/p>\n

Marizanne Grundlingh made it five straight Ponies with a time of 2:05.72 in the 200 IM, giving her first place, her first of two victories on the night. Sophomore Sara Nordenstam took first in the 100 butteRfly with a time of 59.05. Senior 17-time All-American Georgina Lee took first in the eighth event of the night, the 100 free, touching in with a time of 51.75. <\/p>\n

Celina Lemmen followed with a first place showing in the 100 back before Grundlingh took first for the second time on the night, this time in the 500 Free with a time of 4:55.72. Diver Kristin Schild took first in both the one and three-meter on the night. <\/p>\n

The Mustangs are next in action Jan. 24 when they travel to Athens, Ga. to compete against No. 2 Georgia and Arkansas. The meet is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. <\/p>\n
