Tech at the Christiansburg Aquatic Center.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ben Delmar<\/strong> and <strong>Martin Kartavi<\/strong> led the way on the men\u2019s side. They started by teaming up with <strong>Colin Whelehan<\/strong> and <strong>PJ Foy<\/strong> to take home the win in the 200 medley relay in 1:24.44, a margin of .12 seconds over the Hokies.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/hokiesports.com\/documents\/e57bcd7e-4f38-4f9b-8168-8e0701f2a938.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meet Results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/acc-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ACC Swimming News<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Delmar went 51.58 to win the 100 breaststroke. His 1:51.88 claimed the 200 breast, Virginia Tech\u2019s <strong>Eli Martin<\/strong> denied wins both times. Delmar capped the day with a time of 1:44.28 to capture the 200 individual medley that, paired with a win in the concluding 200 freestyle relay saw the Tar Heels over the line.<\/p>\n<p>Kartavi was on that 200 free relay, his split of 18.93 coming second only to Foy\u2019s 18.79. <strong>Sean Setzer<\/strong> and <strong>Nate Hohm<\/strong> rounded out the quartet that went 1:16.57. Kartavi won the 50 free in 19.38, edging Va. Tech\u2019s <strong>Brendan Whitfield<\/strong> by two tenths, with Setzer third and Foy fourth.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Seb Lunak<\/strong> won the 200 butterfly in 1:44.00, with Whelehan second. Foy\u2019s 46.48 was tops in the 100 fly. <strong>Rodolfo Vazquez<\/strong> scored 391.05 points to claim diving for the Tar Heels. <strong>Ciro Meija<\/strong> scored 429.90 to triumph in platform.<\/p>\n<p>Whitfield won the 200 free in 1:34.95 for Virginia Tech, which did much of its damage in freestyle. <strong>Jakub Poliacik<\/strong> won the 1,000 in 9:03.91 and the 500 in 4:23.14. <strong>Javier Nunez\u2019s<\/strong> time of 43.61 claimed the 100.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Andy Roose<\/strong> wont the 100 backstroke in 46.42, a Virginia Tech 1-2-3 with <strong>Levente Balogh<\/strong> and <strong>Connor Johnson.<\/strong> It was the same story and the same order in the 200, Roose getting to the wall first in 1:41.23.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sophia Frei<\/strong> and <strong>Mary Macaulay<\/strong> led the North Carolina women. Frei led off the victorious Tar Heels 200 medley relay, teaming with <strong>Samantha Armand, Lillian Sawyer<\/strong> and <strong>Eden Goettsch<\/strong> to go 1:37.49.<\/p>\n<p>Frei pulled off the backstroke double, winning the 100 in 51.75 and the 200 in 1:53.58.<\/p>\n<p>Macaulay overcame a DQ in the 200 fly to win the 100 in 53.39 in a 1-2 with teammate <strong>Taylor Bloom<\/strong> and the 200 IM in 1:58.49.<\/p>\n<p>UNC closed by winning the 200 free relay in 1:30.69 with <strong>Chloe Stinson, Mackenzie Headley,<\/strong> Sawyer and Goettsch. <strong>Lexie Ward<\/strong> won the 1,000 free in 9:50.83. Bloom went 1:56.45 to dominate the 200 fly. Sawyer\u2019s 49.13 won the 100 free.<\/p>\n<p>UNC dominated diving. <strong>Sofia<\/strong> <strong>Knight<\/strong> scored 321.68 to win 1-meter in a 1-2-3 result. Knight\u2019s 317.10 won platform with <strong>Juliet Radich<\/strong> second.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Emily Santos<\/strong> pulled a fast breaststroke double to lead Virginia Tech. She won the 100 in 59.50, the second-best time in program history.
