Katie Ledecky<\/strong> clocked a time of 15:15.49 in the women\u2019s 1,500 freestyle at the Virginia Pro-Am on Friday.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s the third-fastest time in history. Only ahead of her is Ledecky\u2019s world record of 15:08.24 in 2022 and Lani Pallister\u2019s<\/strong> U.S. Open record of 15:13.83 from the World Cup last year.<\/p>\n

The session also included a U.S. Open record from \u2013 hang on \u2013 backstroker Jordan Crooks?<\/strong> That\u2019s right, the former Tennessee sprint start marked his return by going 22.60 in the 50 back to set the U.S. Open mark. It began with a 100 fly U.S. Open record for Gretchen Walsh.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kate Douglass<\/strong> time-trialed a 50 freestyle after the session official ended, going 22.94. That\u2019s a U.S. Open record, downing the 23.10 set by Walsh in a dual meet with Florida last fall. It\u2019s her best time and slots in third all-time in world history, behind two swims from Walsh (including the 22.83 world record) and Ranomi Kromowidjojo\u2019s<\/strong> 22.93 from 2017.<\/p>\n
