Cory is a Summer Nationals qualifier who is among the top backstrokers in the class.<\/p>\n<p>She will join\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/sprinter-leah-inman-verbally-commits-to-florida-for-2028-29-season\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leah Inman<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/florida-gators-snag-2028-verbal-from-breaststroker-isabella-green\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Isabelle Green<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in Gainesville as a member of the Gators\u2019 Class of 2032.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>\u201cI am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Florida! I am so grateful for my friends, family, and coaches, especially Coach Chris and Coach John, for all of their support. I also want to thank Coach Nesty, Coach Kristin, and the rest of the Florida coaching staff for giving me such an amazing opportunity! She placed 23rd in the 200m back at Summer Nationals this past summer after earning bronze in the 50m back at Potomac Valley Long Course Seniors. Last winter, she raced to third in the 100 back and fourth in the 200 back at the NCAP Katie Ledecky Invitational before going on to place fifth in both the 100 back and 200 back at NCSA Spring Championships.<\/p>\n<p>Her best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>200 back &#8211; 1:54.15<\/li>\n<li>100 back &#8211; 53.17<\/li>\n<li>200 IM &#8211; 2:03.83<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Currently a junior at Yorktown High School, Cory took second in the 100 back and fourth in the 50 free at the 2025 Virginia Class 6 State Championships.
