Minnesota Women Take Down Iowa in Home Dual Meet<\/strong><\/p>\n

The University of Minnesota women’s swim and dive teams welcomed Big Ten rival Iowa for a dual meet Saturday and finished first in 11 out of 16 events on the way to a 178-122 victory.<\/p>\n

Minnesota’s\u00a0Kamdyn Periat<\/strong>,\u00a0Ava Goodno<\/strong>,\u00a0Morgan Thomas<\/strong> and\u00a0Livi Wanner<\/strong> finished well ahead of any other squad in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:39.38. Periat later won the 100 free (51.18), and she anchored the Golden Gophers’ 400 free relay to a first-place finish.\u00a0Wanner, Thomas and\u00a0Mina Kaljevic<\/strong> joined Periat as the team clocked 3:23.35.<\/p>\n

Faith Lamah<\/strong> topped the 200 free in 1:50.76, and\u00a0Rachel Conley<\/strong> finished first in the 200 butterfly (2:00.55). Kaljevic held on for the win in the 500 free (5:01.26), and Claire Renke<\/strong> came home first in the 100 fly (54.53). Diver\u00a0Elna Widerstrom<\/strong> won 3-meter (340.35) and 1-meter (305.63).<\/p>\n
