The Chinese swimmer came home in 4:27.09 with Wood going 4:28.90 following\u00a0 and <strong>Waka Kobori<\/strong> third in 4:29.02.<\/p>\n<p>It followed Yu&#8217;s third place in the 100IM on Thursday after her Asian records in the 100 and 200IM at the first stop in Baku.<\/p>\n<h4>Women\u2019s 200m Freestyle<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Siobhan Haughey<\/strong> dominated throughout to clinch victory in 1:51.02. <strong>Anna Peplowski<\/strong> touched in 1:53.32 for second with <strong>Freya Colbert<\/strong> next home in 1:53.46.<\/p>\n<p>It was Haughey&#8217;s second straight 200 free win, a week after she went 1:51.08 in Baku.<\/p>\n<h4>Men\u2019s 200m Individual Medley<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Shaine Casas<\/strong> was second behind Luke Barr at 150 before coming through on the final 50 in 1:51.81. <strong>Carson Foster<\/strong> moved from fifth at 175m for second in 1:52.21 with <strong>Finlay Knox<\/strong> third in 1:52.33<\/p>\n<h4>Women\u2019s 100m Backstroke<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Marrit Steenbergen<\/strong> continued her World Cup gold rush with a 55.32 victory. <strong>Taylor Ruck<\/strong> was second in 56.38 with <strong>Anna Peplowski<\/strong> returning to the water around 13 minutes after 200 free silver to capture bronze in 57.37.<\/p>\n<p>Steenbergen won the 100 back among four golds on the first stop in Azerbaijan to lead the standings alongside <strong>Egor Kornev<\/strong> coming into Tashkent. The Netherlands swimmer won the 50 back and the 100IM in European record time on the opening day in Uzbekistan.<\/p>\n<h4>Men\u2019s 50m Breaststroke<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Michael Houlie<\/strong> made it a second South African gold in the space of half an hour when he touched in 25.67 as he upgraded his Baku silver. <strong>Kirill Prigoda<\/strong> was second in 25.82 with <strong>Caspar Corbeau<\/strong> taking third in 25.92, 0.02 ahead of Qin Haiyang (25.94).<\/p>\n<h4>Women\u2019s 50m Butterfly<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Roos Vanotterdijk<\/strong> came from second at the turn to take the title in 24.75 ahead of <strong>Sara Junevik<\/strong> (25.06) and <strong>Arina Surkova<\/strong> (25.08).<\/p>\n<p>The Belgian won the 50 fly in Baku to go 2 for 2 with one stop remaining.<\/p>\n<h4>Men\u2019s 100m Freestyle<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Cam McEvoy<\/strong> and <strong>Egor Kornev<\/strong> shared the honours after the Russian made up a deficit of 0.25 at the final turn. The pair couldn\u2019t be separated as they touched the wall in 45.24, 0.40secs off the WR of 44.84 held jointly by Kornev and <strong>Kyle Chalmers<\/strong>. <strong>Ivan Girev<\/strong> made it a second Russian on the podium in third in 46.51.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Splits:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>McEvoy<\/strong>: 10.07\/21.42 (11.35)\/33.22 (11.80)\/45.24 (12.02)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kornev<\/strong>: 10.19\/21.68 (11.49)\/33.47 (11.79)45.24 (11.77)<\/p>\n<p>It was a second medal of the night for Kornev following his 50 back silver.<\/p>\n<h4>Women\u2019s 100m Breaststroke<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Mona McSharry<\/strong> made another trip to the podium with victory in 1:04.25, 0.25 ahead of <strong>Evgeniia Chikunova<\/strong> (1:04.50). <strong>Florine Gaspard<\/strong> and <strong>Tes Schouten<\/strong> \u2013 training mates in Antwerp \u2013 shared third place with the Netherlands swimmer coming from seventh at the final turn as they clocked 1:05.38.<\/p>\n<p>It was a second straight win over 100m for McSharry following Baku gold.<\/p>\n<h4>Men\u2019s 200m Butterfly<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Chen Juner<\/strong> led from start to finish to clinch victory in 1:49.98. <strong>So Ogata<\/strong> of Japan was second in 1:50.29 with <strong>Alberto Razzetti<\/strong> next home in 1:53.09.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>World Cup Tashkent, Day 2 Finals: Cam McEvoy &amp;
