Two swimmers got under the pool mark in the 1,000 freestyle, and the Cardinals\u2019 400 free relay set the pool standard in a 188-69 win over the Musketeers. The men\u2019s team claimed a 189.5-70.5 victory.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/gocards.com\/documents\/2026\/10\/2\/UofL_vs._Xavier_Final_Results.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Meet Results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/acc-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ACC Swimming News<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The records started early. <strong>Thilda Haell<\/strong> went 9:34.26 in the women\u2019s 1,000 freestyle, followed by <strong>Leticia Fassina Romao\u2019s<\/strong> 9:35.12. Both better the standard of 9:40.26 that <strong>Liberty Williams<\/strong> set in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Gorbenko showed her versatility early. The Israeli Olympian anchored a winning 200 medley relay with <strong>Caroline Larsen, Anna Inagaki<\/strong> and <strong>Julia Ogren<\/strong> that went 1:37.96. Gorbenko won the 100 back in 51.79. then she led a trio of Division I cuts by going 1:52.76 in the 200 back. The record on the chopping block again belonged to Williams at 1:53.22.<\/p>\n<p>Gorbenko was on the B relay in the 400 free, though. The A squad of Larsen, Ogren, <strong>Julie Mishler<\/strong> and <strong>Angelina Solari<\/strong> went 3:12.84, taking down by 1.39 seconds the pool mark set in 2016 by a Cardinals\u2019 squad that included <strong>Mallory Comerford<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Cardinals generally dominated. <strong>Summer Cardwell<\/strong> won the 200 free in 1:46.18, just edging teammates <strong>Mary Clarke<\/strong> and <strong>Maya Bezanson.<\/strong> Inagaki won the 100 breaststroke in 1:00.96 and the 200 in 2:12.26. <strong>Kaitlyn Sallows<\/strong> claimed the 200 fly in 2:01.26 and was second to Inagaki in the 200 breast.<\/p>\n<p>Larsen won the 50 free in 21.71, with Mishler second in 22.17. Both are D1 cuts, as is Larsen\u2019s winning time of 51.61 in the 100 fly. Cardwell cracked 50 seconds to go 49.99 in the 100 free. Mishler was also second to Gorbenko in the 200 back. <strong>Daria Golovaty<\/strong> bested the record-setters from the 1,000 in the 500 free with a time of 4:43.73. <strong>Xeniya Ignatova<\/strong> won the 200 individual medley in 2:00.32.<\/p>\n<p>On the men\u2019s side, Louisville spread out the victories in egalitarian fashion. <strong>Gregg Enoch<\/strong> was the only double winner.
