She won gold in the 100m freestyle, 100m butterfly, 400m free relay and 400m medley relay (American record), while also earning silver in the 800m freestyle relay. Thompson turned in the fastest 100m fly relay split in history (57.89). At the Goodwill Games, she captured two gold, two silver and a bronze.
