Loken is a Futures qualifier who specializes in breaststroke.<\/p>\n<p>She will join\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/missouri-state-champ-avery-hogue-lends-2028-verbal-to-penn-state\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Avery Hogue<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>in State College as a member of the Nittany Lions&#8217; Class of 2032.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding her commitment, she said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #000080\"><strong>&#8220;I am overjoyed to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Penn State University! I cannot thank my family enough for all of their support throughout my swimming journey. I am also incredibly grateful for my friends, teammates, teachers, and coaches who have helped shape who I am today. To my coaches, Ryan and Parker, thank you for supporting me and always pushing me to be my best!! A big thank you to Coach Hollie, Coach Mike, Coach Tommy, and the rest of the Penn State coaching staff for giving me this amazing opportunity! I\u2019m so excited to be a Nittany Lion! WE ARE!&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Loken does her club swimming with Fox Valley Wave Swim Team. She most recently competed at Madison Futures in August where she earned bronze in the 50m breast and won the B-final of the 100m breast. In February, she was the runner-up in both the 50 breast and 100 breast at the Wisconsin Short Course Senior Championships, also taking sixth in the 200 breast.<\/p>\n<p>Her best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 breast &#8211; 28.82<\/li>\n<li>100 breast &#8211; 1:02.68<\/li>\n<li>200 breast &#8211; 2:21.46<\/li>\n<li>200 IM &#8211; 2:08.20<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Currently a junior at Appleton North High School, Loken finished second in the 100 breast and 13th in the 200 IM at the Wisconsin DI State Championships. She placed fifth in the 100 breast at the state meet as a freshman in 2024. Loken has earned USA Swimming Scholastic All-American honors.<\/p>\n<p>Penn State finished 13th at the 2026 Big Ten Championships. She graduated from the University of Vermont in 2019 with a degree in Public Communication and a double minor in Coaching and Sports Management.
