{"id":653484,"date":"2026-09-13T17:03:34","date_gmt":"2026-09-14T00:03:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=653484"},"modified":"2026-09-13T17:03:34","modified_gmt":"2026-09-14T00:03:34","slug":"csl-hires-two-time-olympian-brittany-maclean-as-analyst-for-first-stop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/csl-hires-two-time-olympian-brittany-maclean-as-analyst-for-first-stop\/","title":{"rendered":"CSL Hires Two-Time Olympian Brittany MacLean as Analyst for First Stop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>CSL Hires Two-Time Olympian Brittany MacLean as Analyst for First Stop<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Olympian an NCAA champion <strong>Brittany MacLean<\/strong> has been one of the world&#8217;s most prominent swimming analysts in her work for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbc.ca\/player\/play\/video\/9.7336249\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The College Swimming League (CSL) announced the hiring of MacLean to be the analyst for the first to matches of the CSL season in Westmont, Ill.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Excited to be part of the team!&#8221; Brittany MacLean wrote on social media. &#8220;Colour commentary for matches 1 &amp; 2 let&#8217;s do this.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The matches are Sept. 24-25 and will be broadcast on ESPN+. MacLean will be teamed up with play-by-play announcer K<strong>evin Cargill<\/strong>, no stranger himself to announcing at the pool.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Swimming deserves commentators who know, follow, and care about the sport,&#8221; CSL C.O.O. <strong>Kyle<\/strong> <strong>Sockwell<\/strong> wrote in a social media post. &#8220;Brittany is exactly that, and that&#8217;s why she&#8217;ll be our lead analyst in Westmont.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ncaa-champion-and-olympic-medalist-brittany-maclean-retires\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MacLean<\/a> represented Canada in the 2012 and 2016 Olympics and won a bronze medal as part of the 800 free relay. She is a two-time world junior champion and former Canadian record-holder in the 400 free and junior world record holder in the 200 free.<\/p>\n<p>In her international career, she has one silver medal and eight bronze medals in major competitions.<\/p>\n<p>She also was an NCAA champion multiple years, leading the Bulldogs to a pair of team
