Olympian Tomoru Honda Gets One Year Suspended Sentence for Driving Incident<\/strong><\/p>\n

Japanese Olympic swimmer Tomoru Honda<\/strong> received a suspended sentence of one year in prison on Wednesday<\/a> for a dangerous driving incident.<\/p>\n

Honda, 24, will have his sentence suspended for three years. The judgement was handed down by Judge Keita Nakajima<\/strong> in the Tachikawa branch of Tokyo District court.<\/p>\n

At around 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 21, 2025, Honda was driving between 88 and 108 kilometers per hour (54 and 67 miles per hour) in a 30-kph zone (18 mph). He crashed into an oncoming car, leading to injuries to the car\u2019s drive, a person in their 60s, that included a fractured sternum.<\/p>\n
