Cam McEvoy Confirms His 100m Freestyle Return on the World Aquatics Silk Road World Cup Tour<\/strong><\/p>\n

The world\u2019s fastest man Cam McEvoy<\/strong> will officially launch his comeback to the 100m freestyle at this year\u2019s World Aquatics World Cup Tour in October.<\/p>\n

McEvoy, the world record holder in the 50m freestyle, has revealed he will contest the 50 and 100m freestyle and 50m butterfly on The Silk Road Tour and will bypass the Australian Short Course Sprints Meet in Sydney at the end of September.<\/p>\n

The 2024 Paris 50m freestyle Olympic champion wants to add the 100m to his repertoire in the countdown to LA28 \u2013 which is a huge plus for Australia\u2019s 4x100m freestyle aspirations in what could well be one of the real blockbuster showdowns against the U.S. in font of 40,000 people at SoFi Stadium.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old Australian still holds the longstanding Australian long course record for 100m freestyle with his textile suit time of 47.04, set at the 2016 Australian Olympic Trials.<\/p>\n
