Brenden Hall, Col Pearse <\/strong>and <strong>Tim Hodge <\/strong>will spearhead \u201cGen Now\u201d when they join \u201cGen Next\u201d on the Dolphins team for this week\u2019s Para Pan Pacs in Walnut, California.<\/p>\n<p>The meet will signify the official two-year countdown to LA28 with the 37-strong Australian Dolphins\u2019 team is set to unleash from August 28 to 30 at the Mt San Antonio College.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGen Next\u201d rookies <strong>Montana Atkinson<\/strong> (#P337), <strong>Stephanie Bruzzese<\/strong> (#P338), <strong>Riley Moore<\/strong> (#P339), <strong>Darren Sisman<\/strong> (#P340), <strong>Amelie Springett-Kelly<\/strong> (#P341) and <strong>Kael Thompson <\/strong>(#P342) have received their gold caps in the countdown to the meet \u00a0\u2013a powerful symbol of courage, unity and excellence on an Australian Team with a proud history in Australian Para swimming.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2012, the Dolphins have made the gold cap sacrosanct for open teams and today\u2019s presentation included a motivational video from Para legends <strong>Matt Cowdrey<\/strong> and <strong>Ellie Cole<\/strong>, two prolific Paralympic gold medallists.\n<\/p>\n<div 400;\">Dolphins Para head coach <strong>Mel Tantrum<\/strong> said today the Para Pan Pacs represented a strategic opportunity and dress rehearsal ahead of the LA Games in which the Dolphins will be the underdogs on American soil.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur aim is to go quicker every time we race \u2013from Trials to competition, heats to finals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThis meet will allow us to identify our strengths and also highlight any gaps in our performance strategy and refine and finetune our processes,\u201d Tantrum said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe had a successful taste of that at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and now we re-set, with a bigger team, and with more rookies.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThis meet is important for what we do inside and also outside of the water.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRookie swimmers will be exposed to our Australian Dolphins\u2019 team culture and leadership as well as the US specific competition demands.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRelays are a focus for us.
