POLL: What Was the Best Performance of the Summer? (VOTE HERE!)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Multiple world records went down between the European Championships in Paris and the Pan Pacific Championships in Southern California. With the sport not holding a global championship meet, it was a refreshing sight to see some of the world’s best athletes in peak form at a regional competition.<\/p>\n

While American Kate Douglass (50 freestyle<\/a>) and Italian Sara Curtis (50 backstroke<\/a>) each broke a pair of records in their sprint disciplines, Germany’s Johannes Liebmann (1500 freestyle<\/a>) shattered a world record in the longest event on the pool program. Meanwhile, the United States established a global standard in the mixed 400 medley relay.<\/p>\n
