{"id":651299,"date":"2026-08-15T10:25:23","date_gmt":"2026-08-15T17:25:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=651299"},"modified":"2026-08-15T11:27:06","modified_gmt":"2026-08-15T18:27:06","slug":"pan-pacific-championships-day-four-womens-prelims-live-recap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/pan-pacific-championships-day-four-womens-prelims-live-recap\/","title":{"rendered":"Pan Pacific Championships Day Four Women&#8217;s Prelims: Alex Walsh, Kate Douglass Make Two Finals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2026 Pan Pacific Championships continued with the Day Four prelims on Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Wollett Aquatic Center in Irvine, California.<\/p>\n<p>The events for the morning session include the 200 IM, 50 freestyle and 200 breaststroke before the slower heats of the men&#8217;s 1500 and women&#8217;s 800.<\/p>\n<p>This is a live recap of the women\u2019s events.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.omegatiming.com\/2026\/2026-pan-pacific-champs-live-results\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Live Results<\/a><\/li>\n<li>C<a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/category\/usa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">omplete Pan Pacs Coverage<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Women&#8217;s 200 IM<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Alex Walsh<\/strong> swam a smooth race to win her heat in 2:08.57 and took the top seed heading into finals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Summer McIntosh<\/strong> won her heat in 2:09.34 and will take the second seed, ahead of Australia&#8217;s <strong>Ella Ramsay<\/strong> (2:09.69).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Regan Smith<\/strong> was the other American to make the A final despite really good swims from <strong>Leah Hayes<\/strong> and P<strong>hoebe Bacon<\/strong>.
