The Day Two schedule will feature prelims action in the women&#8217;s and men&#8217;s 400 individual medley, 100 freestyle, 100 breaststroke and 50 backstroke.<\/p>\n<p>Rather than contest the 100 freestyle, where she recently broke the 52-second barrier, the United States&#8217; <strong>Kate Douglass<\/strong> has opted to race the 100 breaststroke, an event in which she is the reigning silver medalist from the World Championships. Douglass anchored the Team USA mixed 400 medley relay to a world record on Wednesday night, splitting 51.01 for her freestyle leg, so the University of Virginia product is clearly in superb form.<\/p>\n<p>World-record holder <strong>Summer McIntosh<\/strong> will take to the 400 individual medley, an event in which she is the reigning Olympic champion.
