Heron is a talented freestyler who has earned Junior National qualifying times.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding his commitment, he said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #000080\"><strong>&#8220;I am extremely excited to announce my verbal commitment to Penn State University! I\u2019d like to thank my coaches, friends, and family for helping throughout the process. A special thanks to Hollie, Mike, and Tommy for giving me this opportunity! WE ARE&#8221;<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Heron, who trains year-round with North Baltimore Aquatic Club, most recently competed at Junior Nationals where he placed 24th in the 1500m free and 25th in the 800m free. He won the 1000 free and 1650 free at Maryland Short Course Seniors in February before going on to sweep the 400m\/800m\/1500m free events at Buffalo Speedo Sectionals in March. He also won the 800m free and took second in the 400m free at Richmond Speedo Sectionals in May.<\/p>\n<p>His best times include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>200 free &#8211; 1:42.34<\/li>\n<li>500 free &#8211; 4:28.89<\/li>\n<li>1000 free &#8211; 9:16.07<\/li>\n<li>1650 free\u00a0 15:25.65<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Nittany Lions finished ninth at the 2026 Big Ten Championships.
