European Championships: Hubert K\u00f3s – Texas Superhero Squad is “Better than the Avengers”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hubert K\u00f3s<\/strong> describes his elite Texas training group of Olympic and world champions as a superhero squad that eclipses the Avengers.<\/p>\n

K\u00f3s was speaking on the eve of the European Championships in Paris where he\u2019s set to take on a programme that encompasses the 50\/100\/200 back, 200IM and 100\/200 fly.<\/p>\n

The Hungarian will meet Leon Marchand<\/strong> amongst others in the 200 fly with the Olympic champion restricted to two individual events because of injury.<\/p>\n

The pair are members of Bob Bowman\u2019s<\/strong> training stable in Texas along with triple Olympic champion and eight-time world gold medallist Summer McIntosh<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Shaine Casas, Carson Foster<\/strong> and Luke Hobson<\/strong> also feature with Regan Smith<\/strong> and Simone Manuel<\/strong> among the women\u2019s ranks. Marchand led home Casas and K\u00f3s for a Texas sweep of the 200IM medals at the 2025 World Championships in Singapore.<\/p>\n

It is the cr\u00e8me de la cr\u00e8me of swimming and an assembly of titans.<\/p>\n

K\u00f3s said: \u201cHonestly, it’s better than the Avengers. Like this sort of group has never been assembled before in the history of swimming. You had amazing swimmers in the past that Bob’s trained, like Michael Phelps obviously, but it\u2019s the amount of swimmers that are really good.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know, you could put up 10 swimmers in a heat and they’d all have Olympic golds or world championship golds or all Olympic medals. It’s incredible. And we’ve got young guys coming up and one day they might become Olympic medallists. So, it’s very cool to see that. And some days you have to fight for your life in there and nothing’s a given in that group.\u201d<\/p>\n
