The first two days of women’s competition at the United States National Championships have featured several impressive performances – not surprisingly – from University of Virginia athletes. Already, titles have been claimed by Anna Moesch<\/strong> (100 freestyle\/200 freestyle), Isabelle Stadden<\/strong> (200 backstroke) and Sophia Umstead<\/strong> (200 breaststroke), with Moesch setting an American record in the 100 free.<\/p>\n

The UVA roll could continue when the Day Three preliminaries get underway at the William Woollett Aquatics Center in Irvine, California. The Cavaliers have multiple high seeds in the 400 individual medley in Katie Grimes<\/strong> and Umstead, while Stadden heads into the 50 backstroke with the No. 1 entry time. There will also be preliminary action in the 100 butterfly and 50 breaststroke.<\/p>\n
