I love my life outside of the pool. I have a beautiful partner, and we really want to create life outside of the pool, whether that\u2019s getting married or having kids.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThere is a little bit of a timeline on when I can have kids\u201d because she was diagnosed with endometriosis (a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of it).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI\u2019ve spoken to my specialist, and he\u2019s like, \u2018Well, you should go freeze your eggs.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI was like, \u2018Well, I can\u2019t do that because I\u2019m swimming.\u2019 I can\u2019t just inject myself with hormones. I\u2019d get pulled up for drug testing. As simple as that.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cSo as much as I love swimming, it also has an impact on my personal life, and something I really want to make sure I\u2019m able to do is have kids and be able to be a mother and have Declan be a father.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI want to make sure all those things are in line. If I can get back to being in the pool by 2032, that\u2019s great.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cNot a lot of people have done it, but if I can do it, then that\u2019s amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The champion swimmer said she was in good spirits despite having to make the tough decision to walk away from the Commonwealth Games, following a diagnosis of glandular fever.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThings could definitely be worse. I\u2019m still healthy. I\u2019ve got all my limbs. I\u2019ve got a working heart, so I can\u2019t really complain,\u201d McKeown told Something To Talk About.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt\u2019s sad that I won\u2019t be able to compete for Australia and be at the Commonwealth Games and Pan Pacs with my fellow teammates \u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cMy goal right now is getting myself healthy so I can be at my best for the LA Olympics in 2028.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Backstroke Queen Kaylee McKeown Reveals She Has Endometriosis;
