Kryger went 2:08.17 to win by nearly two seconds over Wilm, who went 2:10.10 in a field without <strong>Kylie Masse.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Third was <strong>Reina Liu<\/strong> in 2:11.31. The field slowed after that, with <strong>Ella Jansen<\/strong> fourth in 2:13.22, .08 up on <strong>Florence Robitaille.<\/strong> In between was B final winner <strong>Lexi Stephens<\/strong> in 2:12.22.<\/p>\n<h4>Men\u2019s 200 backstroke<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Ethan Ekk<\/strong> picked up a win in 1:57.58, one of two swimmers to break two minutes. <strong>Blake Tierney,<\/strong> the national record holder, was the other, in 1:58.76. <strong>Jacques Harrison<\/strong> finished third in 2:00.55. He was .08 up on <strong>Francis Brennan<\/strong> and .19 up on <strong>Aiden Norman<\/strong> in fifth.<\/p>\n<h4>Women\u2019s 50 butterfly<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Taylor Ruck<\/strong> has wrapped up a stellar week. She added the 50 fly title to the 50 free, 100 back, 100 fly and 100 free. Ruck went 25.93. She was four tenths up on <strong>Matea Gigovic,<\/strong> who went 26.38. there was another half-second back to <strong>Leilani Fack<\/strong> in third.<\/p>\n<p>Fourth overall was <strong>Helena Tripp<\/strong> in 27.45. The B final was quicker, with <strong>Ziyu Zhou<\/strong> in 27.19 and <strong>Katherine Kuehn<\/strong> in 27.20.<\/p>\n<h4>Men\u2019s 50 butterfly<\/h4>\n<p>Sans <strong>Josh Liendo, Finlay Knox<\/strong> picked up another win in the 50 fly, the veteran showing his versatility with a time of 23.36. <strong>Chris Weeks<\/strong> was second in 23.52. <strong>Eric Ginsburg<\/strong> and <strong>Filip Senc-Samardzic<\/strong> were third and fourth in 23.88 and 23.89, respectively.<\/p>\n<h4>Women\u2019s 100 breaststroke<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Alexanne Lepage<\/strong> continues her quest for the Canadian record in the 100 breast with a best time of 1:06.08. That\u2019s .34 seconds up on her best time from the recent Mare Nostrum, and it continues her pursuit of <strong>Annamay Pierse\u2019s<\/strong> enduring 2009 record 1:05.74.<\/p>\n<p>Second was <strong>Sophie Angus<\/strong> in 1:07.22. <strong>Shona Branton<\/strong> finished third in 1:07.63, then a gap of exactly two seconds back to <strong>Maelle Sanborn\u2019s<\/strong> 1:09.63, the only other sub-1:10 time.<\/p>\n<h4>Men\u2019s 100 breaststroke<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Oliver Dawson<\/strong> completed the breaststroke sweep with a time of 59.97, the only sub-minute performance. It\u2019s shy of his national record 59.33 from May but still was well clear of the field.<\/p>\n<p>Second was <strong>Apollo Hess<\/strong> in 1:01.40. <strong>Brayden Taivassalo<\/strong> followed in 1:01.58. <strong>Justice Migneault<\/strong> was fourth in 1:02.03.<\/p>\n<h4>Women\u2019s 800 freestyle<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Ella Crosgrove<\/strong> finished up the meet with a time of 8:40.35 to earn the win. She was 1.04 seconds ahead of Emma <strong>Finlin\u2019s<\/strong> 8:41.38. <strong>Julie Brousseau<\/strong> finished third in 8:46.32.<\/p>\n<h4>Paraswimming event<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Jaime Gosgriffe<\/strong> won the women\u2019s 200 individual medley in 2:33.49, giving the SM10 swimmer the win. <strong>Tess Routliffe<\/strong> was second in 3:01.92 as an SM7.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nicholas Bennett<\/strong> picked up another victory in 2:07.29, the SM14 swimmer more than a second off his Canadian record. <strong>Fernando Lu<\/strong> was second in 2:15.57.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bell Canadian Trials, Night 5: Taylor Ruck Finishes 5-for-5 Trials It\u2019s been a banner week for Taylor Ruck.
