For many athletes, the visit is the most important factor in the decision-making process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This guide covers everything swimmers and their families need to know \u2014 what visits are, what each division can pay for, and how to make the most of every one.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Official Visit Definition<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An official visit is any visit to a college campus paid for by the school. Because these visits are a significant investment, coaches only extend official visit invitations to recruits they are seriously considering.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Unofficial Visit Definition<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An unofficial visit <\/span>is a campus visit paid for by the prospective student-athlete or their family.<\/p>\n<h2>Unofficial Visit Rules by Division<\/h2>\n<h4>Division I<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>No complimentary meals.<\/li>\n<li>Up to three tickets to a home sports event for you and those accompanying you<\/li>\n<li>A prospect may receive transportation to practice and competition facilities<\/li>\n<li>All unofficial visit activities must occur within a one-mile radius of campus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Division II<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>One meal for you and those accompanying you.<\/li>\n<li>Complimentary admission to a home sports event for you and those accompanying you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Division III<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>One meal for you at the on-campus dining facility or one meal for you off campus if the on-campus dining facility is closed and the NCAA school provides meals to all prospective students, including nonathletes.<\/li>\n<li>Complimentary admission to a home sports event for you and those accompanying you.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><b>Official Visit Rules by Division<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The rules for what schools can pay for differ by division.
