Andy Salmon<\/strong> has resigned as CEO of Swim England<\/strong> after leading the governing body for around two and a half years.<\/p>\n Salmon took up the role in February 2024 when he replaced previous incumbent Jane Nickerson<\/strong> who retired amid an independent review which demanded urgent reform of disciplinary and safeguarding procedures,<\/p>\n He joined the organisation as the Swim England Listening Report<\/strong> \u2013 which detailed \u00a0independent research on the welfare, culture, and safeguarding within the aquatics community \u2013 was published.<\/p>\n It resulted in the Heart of Aquatics<\/strong> plan which is a roadmap for overhauling safeguarding policies and shifting the sport’s culture to prioritise participant welfare.<\/p>\n However, the organisation are once more seeking a new CEO with Salmon having left on 30 June and an interim chief executive set to be appointed.<\/p>\n Swim England<\/strong> said in a statement: \u201cAndy joined the organisation in February 2024 as the Listening Report was published. He led the process to establish a community-informed strategy that served to respond to the report and establish new ways of working, underpinned by a new culture.<\/p>\n \u201cThe implementation of this strategy saw a new Senior Leadership Team, a financial plan, a new organisational structure and improved stakeholder relationships.<\/p>\n \u201cSwim England Chair Richard Hookway<\/strong> said, \u201cWe would like to thank Andy for his sterling efforts over the past two years. He, alongside the Senior Leadership Team, has led the beginning of the next chapter for Swim England. He leaves the organisation in a strong position to continue its transformation with lots more work to be done to achieve our goals.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAndy Salmon<\/strong> also commented, \u201cI\u2019d like to thank the very many colleagues and stakeholders who welcomed me into the unfamiliar aquatic environment and gave me support and encouragement as we embarked on the transformation journey.
