Queensland sprinter <strong>Jamie Jack<\/strong> has upstaged world record holder <strong>Cam McEvoy<\/strong> in the heats of the men\u2019s 50m freestyle on day three of the Australian Trials and National Championships in Sydney.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">McEvoy started proceedings in the opening heat, at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre, the four-time Olympian clocking 21.72 (well outside his WR of 20.88, set in China in March).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The 33-year-old Olympic gold medallist and two-time world champion switching off under the flags, cruising to the wall, ahead of 18-year-old NSW champion <strong>Ollie Moclair<\/strong> (Cranbrook) in 21.83.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Before 23-year-old Jack, the brother of Olympic and World Championship relay gold medallist Shayna, unleashed a 21.60 \u2013 his fastest ever race time -= to grab lane four in tonight\u2019s much anticipated final &#8211; as he chases his a maiden Commonwealth Games berth.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jack just outside his personal best of 21.43, set in a time trial at the 2025 US Summer Nationals in Irvine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jack and McEvoy were both under the automatic qualifying time for the Glasgow Commonwealth Games and Pan Pacs of 21.77.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: O\u2019Callaghan<\/strong> leads the all-star field into tonight\u2019s final \u2013 all eight girls in the hunt for individual and relay places on the teams for Glasgow and Irvine.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O\u2019Callaghan leading the St Peters Western all-stars in 1:52.28, followed by club mates <strong>Lani Pallister<\/strong> (1:56.37) and <strong>Milla Jansen<\/strong> (1:56.71) qualifying in second and third with another SPW girl <strong>Jenna Forrester<\/strong> seventh in a personal best of 1:57.95.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Forrester having already
