Nevada Adds Maddy Banic to Coaching Staff<\/strong><\/p>\n

The University of Nevada on Friday announced the hiring of Maddy Banic<\/strong> to the swimming and diving staff as an associate head coach.<\/p>\n

Banic spent the last three seasons at the University of Missouri, where she oversaw 11 NCAA qualifiers for the Tigers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Banic was a volunteer assistant for the 2022-23 season at the University of Tennessee, her alma mater, working with teams that finished eighth at the NCAA Women\u2019s Championships and seventh at the men\u2019s.<\/p>\n

“I knew I wanted to hire Maddy Banic right in the beginning of our search,\u201d Nevada head coach Brendon Bray<\/strong> said in a team statement<\/a>. \u201cMaddy is humble and she is someone our young woman can look up to not only because of her success as an athlete but the positive impact she has on people around her and the excellence she expects from her athletes. I expect to work very collaboratively with her and want her to be part of every aspect of our program and have a role with every athlete on our team. She is recommended from coaches at the highest level of our sport, and I am so glad that our search connected with her professional goals to end up landing here at Nevada. We want to elevate to a championship level in our conference next season and increase our presence and impact at NCAA’s and I think we have the perfect candidate. She won a national title in the 200 medley relay at NCAAs in 2019.
