Tulane Hires Richard Marschner as Head Diving Coach<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tulane on Monday announced the hiring of Richard Marschner<\/strong> as head diving coach on the staff of Amanda Caldwell<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Marschner spent 16 seasons as the head coach at Utah. He was four times named conference Diving Coach of the Year, including in the Pac-12 in 2021 and 2024 (for men\u2019s and women\u2019s, respectively) and the 2025 and 2026 Big 12 men\u2019s diving coach of the year. The latter was for guiding Elias Petersen,<\/strong> who finished fourth on 1-meter at each of the last two NCAAs. He also coached Swedish Olympic finalist Emilia Nilsson Garip<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Marschner has coached 16 NCAA qualifiers, eight All-Americans and 30 top-25 finishers at NCAAs. His divers won eight conference championships across three conference.<\/p>\n

What stands out most is his ability to develop high-level divers and resilient competitors who understand how to perform when it matters most. Richard\u2019s technical expertise, attention to detail and commitment to daily excellence will immediately impact our program. Marschner dove at Louisville from 2000-4, where he was four times a Conference USA runner-up. He has roots in New Orleans as the coach of the University of New Orleans from 2008-10, restarting the schools diving program after Hurricane Katrina. His wife, May, is a New Orleans native.<\/p>\n
