Siobhan Haughey<\/strong> set a Mare Nostrum 200 free record en-route to a golden double on day two of the Canet stop of the series.<\/p>\n
First up for the four-time Olympic medallist was the 50 free which she took in 24.41, 0.05 ahead of Marrit Steenbergen<\/strong> with the Dutchwoman going 24.46 a day after rattling the 100 WR with the second-fastest time in history of 51.86. Milou van Wijk was third in 24.51.<\/p>\n
That was 0.11 off Haughey\u2019s 24.30 PB from the Budapest stop of the 2023 World Cup.<\/p>\n
The Hong Kong swimmer returned for the 200 free where she led throughout to win in 1:54.13 and lower her own Mare Nostrum mark from Monaco by 0.13 as she remains third in the rankings.\u00a0Barbora Seemanova (1:55.99) and Ainhoa Campabadal Amezcua (1:58.47) joined her on the podium.<\/p>\n
Kristof Milak made it four trips to the podium over two days. He finished third in the 50 free in 21.88 behind winner Andrej Barna of Serbia who set a Canet record of 21.57, lowering the 21.64 standard held by Bruno Fratus since 2019. Quintin McCarty was second (21.73).<\/p>\n
The double Olympic champion returned for the 100 fly where he set a new Canet record of 50.73, slicing 0.67 from Maxime Grousset\u2019s 51.40 mark set last year. It was Milak\u2019s second swiftest time in 2026 followed by his 50.22 rankings topper at the Hungarian Championships. Ilya Kharun was 0.06 behind in 50.79 with Roman Shevliakov third in 52.32.<\/p>\n
Erika Fairweather was also in record-breaking form as she took down the Canet 400 free mark. The New Zealander led from the off to touch in 4:02.28 ahead of Agostina Hein (4:05.34) and Simona Quadarella (4:06.64). Fairweather\u2019s performance lowers Camille Muffat\u2019s mark of 4:02.97 that had stood since 2012.<\/p>\n
Andrej Barna of Serbia set a Canet record of 21.57 in the men\u2019s 50 free, lowering the 21.64 standard held by Bruno Fratus since 2019. Quintin McCarty (21.73) and Kristof Milak (21.88).<\/p>\n

Mary-Sophie Harvey clinched the IM double with an emphatic 4:34.29 win in the 400 with Emma Carrasco second in 4:39.77<\/li>\n
Evgeniia Chikunova won the women\u2019s 200 breast in 2:22.09 with fellow Russian Kirill Prigoda taking the men\u2019s title in 2:10.16<\/li>\n
Alberto Razzetti won the men\u2019s 200IM in 1:59.04<\/li>\n
Taylor Ruck won the women\u2019s 100 fly by a fingernail in 57.93, just 0.01 ahead of Anastasiya Kuliashova ( 57.94)<\/li>\n
Ingrid Wilm won the women\u2019s 100 back in 59.72 with Miron Liftinsev taking the men\u2019s title in 53.33<\/li>\n
Patrick Sammon won the 200 free in 1:46.48 ahead of Gabriel Jett who ensured a USA 1-2 in 1:46.62<\/li>\n
Mackenzie Siroky won the women\u2019s 50 breast in 30.33 while Michael Houlie won the men\u2019s race in 26.63<\/li>\n
