THE American Water Polo Coaches Association has named its All-American team for the 2003 season.  <\/p>\n<p>The Player of the Year for Division I was Tony Azevedo from Stanford University. Azevedo, a junior, led Stanford to the NCAA championship game for the third consecutive season. Azevedo garnered Player of the Year honors in 2001 and 2002 as well. <\/p>\n<p>Coach of the Year for Division I was Jovan Vavic of the University of Southern California.  Vavic piloted the Trojans to the 2003 NCAA Championship.<\/p>\n<p>The Player of the Year for Division II was Jonathan Hopkins from the University of California, San Diego.  Hopkins earned Player of the Year honors in 2002 as well. <\/p>\n<p>Coach of the Year for Division II was Denny Harper of the University of California, San Diego. Harper led the Tritons to the Western Water Polo Association title game, falling just short of a thirteenth NCAA Championship berth during his tenure.<\/p>\n<p>Adam Foley from University of Redlands was named Player of the Year for Division III and the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  <\/p>\n<p>Coach of the Year for Division III was Jeff Ma of Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Ma led the Engineers to a berth in the Eastern Water Polo Championship and a No. 1 ranking in the final Division III Collegiate Coaches Poll.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PHOENIX, December 24.
