Wattel previously placed third in the 100 fly Wednesday evening.\u00a0<strong>Taylor Ruck<\/strong>, the Canadian who placed second in the aforementioned two-lap race, qualified in the No. 2 spot for the final at 26.67, followed by\u00a0<strong>Kalia Antoniou<\/strong> (26.79),\u00a0<strong>Lismar Lyon<\/strong> (26.80) and\u00a0<strong>Caroline Larsen<\/strong> (26.82).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Torri Huske<\/strong>, the winner of three events already this week in Sacramento, took sixth in 26.99, followed by a seventh-place time between\u00a0<strong>Kasia Wasick<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Katrin Otaegi<\/strong> in 27.24. Andrew swam a time of 1:01.23 to top prelims, but NCAA champion\u00a0<strong>Yamato Okadome<\/strong> (1:01.45) and 200 breast winner\u00a0<strong>Carles Coll Marti<\/strong> (1:01.47) were not far away.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eli Martin<\/strong>, a Virginia Tech Hokie along with Coll Marti, tied with\u00a0<strong>Andrew Eubanks\u00a0<\/strong>for fourth in 1:01.54, while\u00a0<strong>Tom Higdon<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Josh Matheny<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Daniel Li<\/strong> also advanced to the final. Moluh clocked 55.10 in prelims to Huske&#8217;s 55.28, with\u00a0<strong>Bella Sims<\/strong> (55.36) and\u00a0<strong>Caroline Larsen<\/strong> (55.39) not far away.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marie Wattel<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Chloe Stepanek<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Kalia Antoniou<\/strong> also advanced to the final, and\u00a0<strong>Taylor Ruck<\/strong> claimed the last spot thanks to a win over\u00a0<strong>Marie Landreneau<\/strong> in a swim-off. Niewold is set for another double in the finals session, coming into this 100 free after he races the 50 fly, and his rivals will try to take advantage.\u00a0<strong>Henry McFadden<\/strong>, already the winner of the 200 free at this meet, will be the toughest competitor after he finished in 48.87, just one hundredth behind Niewold.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keaton Jones<\/strong> has shown major improvements in freestyle this week. The 200 back Olympic finalist went 49.23 in prelims, a second quicker than his seed time.\u00a0<strong>Lamar Taylor<\/strong> grabbed fourth in 49.27, followed by\u00a0<strong>Brendan Whitfield<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Jerry Fox<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Nans Mazellier<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Ruslan Gaziev<\/strong>.
