{"id":643514,"date":"2026-05-17T08:33:35","date_gmt":"2026-05-17T15:33:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=643514"},"modified":"2026-05-17T08:33:35","modified_gmt":"2026-05-17T15:33:35","slug":"grant-house-andy-dobrzanski-post-strong-times-saturday-evening-in-tempe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/grant-house-andy-dobrzanski-post-strong-times-saturday-evening-in-tempe\/","title":{"rendered":"Grant House, Andy Dobrzanski Post Strong Times Saturday Evening in Tempe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Grant House, Andy Dobrzanski Post Strong Times Saturday Evening in Tempe<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Veteran\u00a0<strong>Grant House<\/strong> and breaststroke standout\u00a0<strong>Andy Dobrzanski<\/strong> were among the swimmers to record victories at the Sun Devil Open in Tempe, Ariz., on Saturday, while on the women&#8217;s side, France native <strong>Marie Wattel<\/strong> nearly got under the 2:00 barrier in the 200 freestyle.<\/p>\n<p>House led the way in the men&#8217;s 200 free with a time of 1:48.60, distancing himself from a group of five swimmers who all clocked 1:50s (<strong>Mattia Mauri<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Tiago Behar<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Remi Fabiani<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Benjamin Butler<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Quin Seider<\/strong>).<\/p>\n<p>A few races later, Dobrzanski blasted a time of 1:00.49 for first place in the men&#8217;s 100 breaststroke. Fresh off racing the breaststroke leg on a pair of national-title-winning relays to wrap up his collegiate career, Dobrzanski went under 1:01 for the first time in prelims (1:00.67) before hitting another lifetime best in the final. In that same race,\u00a0<strong>Brayden Taivassalo<\/strong> took second in 1:01.28 with\u00a0<strong>Lucien Vergnes<\/strong> third at 1:01.82 after going 1:01.05 in prelims.<\/p>\n<p>Wattel earned her second win of the meet in the 200 free with a time of 2:00.11. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/adam-chaney-notches-win-in-50-freestyle-at-sun-devil-open-marie-wattel-victorious\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">She had previously topped the 50-meter race Friday<\/a>. She won the race by more than two seconds over\u00a0<strong>Grace Lindberg<\/strong>, but the second-best time of the day belonged to\u00a0<strong>Albane Cachot<\/strong> with her 2:00.44 in prelims.<\/p>\n<p>Also doubling up was\u00a0<strong>Adam Chaney<\/strong>, who followed his win in the 50 free Friday with a time of 25.09 in the 50 backstroke, comfortably winning over\u00a0<strong>Alex Desangles<\/strong> (25.79) and Vergnes (25.80). In his only race of the day,\u00a0<strong>Ilya Kharun<\/strong> ended up fifth (26.17).
