The University of Stirling swimmer also swam in the final at last year&#8217;s World Championships where GB claimed gold.<\/p>\n<p>McMillan has entered the 100, 200 and 400 free with the four-length event one of the most highly-anticipated of the meet which runs from 24-29 July at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre.<\/p>\n<p>There he&#8217;ll meet GB teammates <strong>Matt Richards, Duncan Scott, James Guy<\/strong> and potentially <strong>Tom Dean<\/strong> although they&#8217;ll all be representing their home nations of Wales, Scotland and England respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Several athletes return from a landmark Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022, where Team NI secured its first swimming medals. Among them is Paralympic star <strong>Barry McClements<\/strong> who claimed Team NI\u2019s first-ever Commonwealth swimming medal with bronze in the S9 100m backstroke. He is set to compete in both the S9 100m backstroke and the S10 100m butterfly.<\/p>\n<p>Rising talents<strong> Ellie McCartney<\/strong> and <strong>Grace Davison<\/strong> further strengthen the squad following impressive performances across the last year. McCartney, a 2025 European U23 champion and World Championships finalist, will compete in the 100m and 200m breaststroke as well as the 200IM. Davison, a European Junior medallist and Ireland\u2019s youngest member at the Paris Games, is entered across sprint freestyle and backstroke events.<\/p>\n<p>Experienced campaigners also feature prominently. <strong>Danielle Hill<\/strong> returns to Glasgow for her fourth Commonwealth Games, having first competed there in 2014 as a 14-year-old. <strong>Conor Ferguson<\/strong> is also back in the team, having previously reached two finals at the Gold Coast Games in 2018.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lottie Cullen<\/strong> will make her Commonwealth Games debut, racing in the 100m and 200m backstroke.\u00a0The squad is completed by a strong relay group including Adam Bradley, Matthew Hamilton, Paddy Johnston, Alana Burns Atkin, Victoria Catterson and Emily Hughes.<\/p>\n<p>Swim Ireland National Performance Director Andy Reid said:\u00a0<em>\u2018\u201c<\/em>It\u2019s an honour to continue as Commonwealth Games Performance Lead, a role I\u2019ve proudly held since 2014.
