He was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/nathan-mundt-hired-as-new-iowa-womens-swimming-diving-head-coach\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hired in May 2021<\/a> after serving as an assistant from 2008-16.<\/p>\n<p>The Hawkeyes won five meets in 2025-26, including a third straight over in-state rival Iowa State, and placed 12th at the Big Ten Championships. Iowa set three program records (two in relays) and 24 top-10 times.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/big-ten-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Big Ten Swimming News<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mundt is in his fifth season rebuilding a roster that had been down to 13 student-athletes when he took over in 2021 after it had been reinstated after a proposed cut that eliminated men\u2019s swimming. Iowa swimmer <strong>Rachel Dildine<\/strong> was selected to compete for the U.S. in the FISU America Games this July.<\/p>\n<p>Mundt was hired in 2021 after leading the Iowa Flyers Swim Club. He was the head coach at Western Illinois before his first stint at Iowa. He was an assistant coach and then interim head coach at Valparaiso.
