FORMER University of Florida distance<br \/>\nfreestyle All-America Dawn Heckman, back in training at the age of 26, showed her heels to the field in the 1000 free on opening night of Southern California Swimming&#39;s Winter Invitational here last evening.<\/p>\n<p>Heckman won in 10:01.75 to 17-year-old teammate Erin Ketchum&#39;s 10:05.99.<\/p>\n<p>On the men&#39;s side, former University of Minnesota Big 10 distance champ<br \/>\nJustin Mortimer, now training with Bill Rose&#39;s Nadadores in hopes of<br \/>\nsecuring a spot on next year&#39;s Olympic team, won in 9:06.89 to Nick Divan&#39;s 9:22.55. Mortimer&#39;s pr is 8:55.42<\/p>\n<p>His best 1650 free, which earned him a bronze at NCAAs two years ago, is<br \/>\n14:47.82 &#8212; the Golden Gopher record &#8212; and ranks him 22nd on the
