{"id":641828,"date":"2026-04-15T10:11:46","date_gmt":"2026-04-15T17:11:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=641828"},"modified":"2026-04-15T11:40:03","modified_gmt":"2026-04-15T18:40:03","slug":"adam-jaszo-fanni-kokas-crowned-at-hungarian-championships-as-kristof-milak-returns-to-competitive-waters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/adam-jaszo-fanni-kokas-crowned-at-hungarian-championships-as-kristof-milak-returns-to-competitive-waters\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00c1d\u00e1m J\u00e1sz\u00f3 &#038; Fanni Kokas Crowned At Hungarian Championships As Krist\u00f3f Mil\u00e1k Returns"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>\u00c1d\u00e1m J\u00e1sz\u00f3 &amp; Fanni Kokas Crowned At Hungarian Championships As Krist\u00f3f Mil\u00e1k Returns<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/live.musz.hu\/event\/program?OnlineEventId=193302059\">Results<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00c1d\u00e1m<\/strong> <strong>J\u00e1sz\u00f3 <\/strong>and <strong>Fanni Kokas<\/strong> won the first two titles of the <strong>Hungarian Championships<\/strong> in Sopron on a day when <strong>Krist\u00f3f Mil\u00e1k <\/strong>returned to competition after a year-long absence.<\/p>\n<p>J\u00e1sz\u00f3 and Kokas each emerged victorious from their respective 50 back finals after navigating the semis at the start of the finals session.<\/p>\n<p>J\u00e1sz\u00f3 booked lane four in 24.96 before returning to take the title in 25.30 ahead of <strong>Benedek Kov\u00e1cs (<\/strong>25.47) and <strong>Oliv\u00e9r<\/strong> <strong>K\u00f3s \u2013 <\/strong>younger brother of Olympic and world 200 back champion Hubert \u2013 who clocked 25.54 for bronze.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I didn&#8217;t think this day would be so long,&#8221; said J\u00e1sz\u00f3 through the Hungarian federation. &#8220;I tried to distribute my strength and it showed, because in the 100m freestyle I barely made it into the qualifiers both in the morning and now in the evening, but I was pretty much dead. By the end, I was thinking about pulling in this fifty somehow, I succeeded, so I&#8217;m half-satisfied with this day.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Kokas headed the women\u2019s semi in 28.68 and came back to lift the crown in 28.47, 0.10 ahead of <strong>Lora Komor\u00f3czy<\/strong> (28.57). <strong>Katalin Burian<\/strong> was third in 29.47.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I was very surprised,&#8221; she said. &#8220;I thought Lora (Komor\u00f3czy) would swim better. I had very good opponents, so I didn&#8217;t expect to be in first place. I knew how I was swimming and how the others were swimming and that it was going to be decided on the reach, so I didn&#8217;t give up.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>A <strong>BVSC-ZUGL\u00d3<\/strong> quartet dominated the mixed medley relay in 3:51.96. Bick<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Mil\u00e1k hasn\u2019t competed since the <strong>2025 Hungarian Championships<\/strong> with his last international race coming at the Paris Games in the 100 fly whre he claimed his second Olympic title and fourth medal overall.<\/p>\n<p>He navigated the 100 free prelims in 49.20 behind <strong>N\u00e1ndor N\u00e9meth<\/strong>\u00a0(48.97) and 200 fly in 2:00.85 with <strong>Rich\u00e1rd Marton<\/strong> the only man to break 2mins in 1:58.94.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s meet is being held in Sopron for the first time from 15-19 April. B-finals have been scrapped and instead semifinals will be contested for all 50-100-200 events.<\/p>\n<p>N\u00e9meth posted 48.11 for lane four in the 100 free ahead of Mil\u00e1k who went 49.34 in the knowledge he has a quick turnaround before the 200 fly. <strong>Daniel Meszaros<\/strong> was third through in 49.40.<\/p>\n<p>Mil\u00e1k dusted himself down and returned for the 200 fly in which he\u2019s the world record of 1:50.34 since the <strong>2022 World Championships<\/strong> in Budapest.<\/p>\n<p>Marton laid down a marker in 1:56.56 followed by <strong>D\u00e1vid Antal<\/strong> (1:57.34) and <strong>Hollo Bal\u00e1zs <\/strong>(1:58.310 with Mil\u00e1k fourth through in 1:59.88.<\/p>\n<h3>Semi-Final Round-Up<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Petra Sen\u00e1nszky led the women\u2019s 100 free in 55.40 ahead of Panna Ugrai (55.70).<\/li>\n<li>Bor\u00f3ka Zs\u00f3fia Kert\u00e9sz headed the women\u2019s 200 fly in 2:10.63 ahead of Vivien Jackl (2:11.03) and Evy Rozeboom of the Netherlands (2:12.19)<\/li>\n<li>G\u00e1bor Zombori headed the men\u2019s 200 breast semis in 2:16.09 followed by Austrian duo Christopher Rothbauer (2:16.97) and Noah Zemansky (2:17.09). Abel Eszenyi was the second Hungarian to book a slot in Thursday\u2019s final in 2:17.11<\/li>\n<li>Brigitta Vass headed the women\u2019s 200 breaststroke in 2:27.11 ahead of Hanna Zambori (2:28.59) with Spain\u2019s Aina Fernandez third through in 2:31.32<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00c1d\u00e1m J\u00e1sz\u00f3 &amp;
