Three-time Olympic champion Tom Dean<\/strong> has withdrawn from next week’s Aquatics GB Swimming Championships<\/strong> in London with a shoulder injury.<\/p>\n Dean, who trains at the University of Stirling<\/strong> alongside fellow Olympic and world 4×200 champions Duncan Scott<\/strong> and Jack McMillan<\/strong>,\u00a0made the announcement on social media, saying: “I\u2019m buzzing with the quality of the work banked in training recently – the numbers have been really exciting<\/p>\n “A shoulder injury means my team and I have made the decision not to race in Stratford next week as I prioritise rehab and stay focused on an exciting summer of racing ahead! \ud83c\udff4\udb40\udc67\udb40\udc62\udb40\udc65\udb40\udc6e\udb40\udc67\udb40\udc7f \ud83c\uddec\ud83c\udde7”<\/p>\n Dean was due to compete at the six-day meet which runs from 14-19 April at the Aquatics Centre in Stratford, East London, which staged the pool programme at the 2012 Olympics.<\/p>\n He was slated to contest the 100 and 200m freestyle, and 200m medley at the six-day championships from 14-19 April<\/p>\n The meet doubles as trials for the Commonwealth Games which run from 24-29 July and the European Championships which will be held in Paris from 10-16 August. Selectors have discretion to add swimmers to teams if they miss trials under specific conditions that render their participation impossible.<\/p>\n Dean anchored Team England<\/strong> to medley relay gold as well as claiming six silvers at Birmingham 2022 and has also won five golds among 10 medals across three European Championships.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n
