The top countries in the world will gather in the Greek city to battle for five tickets guaranteeing a spot in Sydney for the World Cup finals, which will be held later this year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The eight teams that will compete in the Division I tournament are led by Spain, the world champion of 2025 and also the World Cup champion of 2025. The Spaniards are looking to return to top shape after finishing sixth at this year&#8217;s European Championship in Belgrade.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to Spain, the full podium from the World Champs in Singapore will be present. Hungary and the host nation, Greece, will push for the Division I title. Greece could be fueled by support from the home crowd. Meanwhile, the European champion of 2026, Serbia will try to secure its bid to the World Cup finals. In 2025, it didn\u2019t qualify, after finishing ninth in Romania.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Croatia is among the nations capable of booking a ticket for Sydney, with Italy, the Netherlands and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/usa-water-polo-announces-roster-for-world-cup-division-i-action\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">United States<\/a> seeking to
