Assistant coach <strong>Jeff Bro<\/strong> will be elevated to head coach under director of swimming and diving <strong>Blaire Anderson<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Lerew\u2019s career finishes after leading <strong>Emilio Trevino<\/strong> to the program\u2019s first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ncaa-mens-championships-texas-ams-emilio-trevino-wins-platform-title\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NCAA platform title last week<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/meet\/sec-swimming\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SEC Swimming News<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cWe want to thank Jay Lerew for his many years of success and dedication to Texas A&amp;M and its swimming &amp; diving program,\u201d Anderson said <a href=\"https:\/\/12thman.com\/news\/2026\/3\/31\/swimming-and-diving-seven-time-coach-of-the-year-lerew-retires-bro-named-head-diving-coach\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">in a press release<\/a>. \u201cUnder his direction, the diving program has produced multiple NCAA Champions, including the school\u2019s first platform champion last weekend, as well as dozens of All-Americans and conference champions. His influence and impact on the swimming &amp; diving program, as well as collegiate diving in general, cannot be overstated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lerew developed 23 All-Americans and 22 individual conference champions. He oversaw four national titles <strong>Jaele Patrick<\/strong> on 3-meter in 2012, <strong>Kurtis Mathews<\/strong> on both boards in 2022 and Trevino this year. Lerew was twice named CSCAA National Diving Coach of the Year and is a seven-time conference coach of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Bro has spent three seasons in College Station. He has 20 years of experience at the national and international level at G.C. Diving in Southlake, Texas. The club won four team championships, with Bro being named USA Diving National Coach of the Year. Bro helped lead <strong>Hailey Hernandez<\/strong> to a spot for the United States at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re extremely excited to promote Coach Bro to lead our program,\u201d Anderson said. \u201cThis decision reflects our confidence in his leadership and experience, and our firm commitment to maintaining a strong and competitive diving program.
