The senior from Canada threw down a 42.54 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ncaa-mens-championships-josh-liendo-crushes-dressels-100-fly-ncaa-record\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">to break the NCAA record<\/a> on the first event of the day.<\/p>\n<p>His record broke Caeleb Dressel&#8217;s 42.80 set in 2018. Liendo&#8217;s swim also sets the meet and U.S. Open marks.<\/p>\n<p>It was a fast race.
