﻿{"id":639508,"date":"2026-03-21T15:33:33","date_gmt":"2026-03-21T22:33:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/?p=639508"},"modified":"2026-03-21T18:34:04","modified_gmt":"2026-03-22T01:34:04","slug":"ncaa-womens-championships-torri-huske-second-fastest-ever-in-100-free-sweeps-3-individual-events","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/ncaa-womens-championships-torri-huske-second-fastest-ever-in-100-free-sweeps-3-individual-events\/","title":{"rendered":"NCAA Women&#8217;s Championships: Torri Huske Second-Fastest Ever in 100 Free, Sweeps 3 Individual Events"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>NCAA Women&#8217;s Championships: Torri Huske Second-Fastest Ever in 100 Free, Sweeps 3 Individual Events<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Torri Huske<\/strong> certainly put the stamp on her final NCAA Championships.<\/p>\n<p>The Stanford senior crushed the field in the 100-yard freestyle to become the second-fastest performer in history and the only swimmer of the meet to win three individual events at the 2026 NCAA Division I Women&#8217;s Swimming and Diving Championship at Georgia Tech.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I saw Lucy (Bell&#8217;s) back half and I was so inspired,&#8221; Huske said. &#8220;I knew it would be a fast field and I wanted to see what I was capable of doing. I feel like my freestyle is feeling really good. I was hoping the time would be there and all that I had to do was get up and race.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Huske won the 100 butterfly, 50 free and 100 free titles this week &#8211; three that she had never won before. She was the 2025 200 IM NCAA champ and was part of the 2022 800 freestyle relay title.\u00a0 She is a six-time NCAA runner-up.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is so exciting. Last year was my first time ever winning at NCAAs and this year to win all three of my events was very exciting for me,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Her versatility has made her one of the most decorated but also one of the most important swimmers in the U.S., especially in international competition, which she plans to continue through 2028.<\/p>\n<p>Huske won the 2021 Olympic trials in the 100 butterfly in an American record then was part of a the silver medal 400 medley relay in Tokyo. In 2024, Huske become one of the world&#8217;s best with Olympic gold in the 100 butterfly as well as the 400 medley relay and 400 mixed medley relay. She also won silver in the 100 free and on the 400 free relay, giving her a total of six Olympic medals, three gold and three silver &#8211; so far.<\/p>\n<p>Huske looked like one of the world&#8217;s best in her final individual collegiate swim on Saturday, March 21.<\/p>\n<p>She took an early lead and continued to build it.
