NCAA Division I Women’s 100 Breaststroke: Eneli Jefimova Pulls Away in Three-Headed Battle<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The Day 2 finals at the 2026 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships continued with the 100-yard breaststroke.<\/p>\n

In one of the closely contested races of the meet so far, the 100 breaststroke proved to bring everyone to the edge of their seats.<\/p>\n

The lead changed on every turn. It was Tennessee’s McKenzie Siroky <\/strong>who was out fastest and turned first at the 25, then Florida’s Anita Battazzo <\/strong>turned in front at the 50, then NC State’s Eneli Jefimova<\/strong>, turned first at the 75 and held on for the victory.<\/p>\n

“The race was great. I did a PB and felt better than the morning. I just felt powerful,” Jefimova said. “I saw the other girls on the 25 and 75 turns and I knew that (Siroky) was really fast the first half of the race and I focus on the back half a little more. I tried to think about my own race, but I definitely looked to see where they were.”<\/p>\n

Jefimova got to the wall in a pool-record 56.30 to hold off the NCAA field and break the school record.<\/p>\n

“I was five hundredths of a second away from it at ACCs, so it was great to get that,” she said. “I am really happy to represent the Wolfpack.”<\/p>\n

Siroky and Battazzo were so close they tied in 57 seconds flat.<\/p>\n

Louisville sophomore Anastasia Gorbenko<\/strong> took fourth in 57.56, followed by Texas sophomore Piper<\/strong> Enge<\/strong> (57.76), Ohio State’s Maria Ramos Najji (<\/strong>57.99), Virginia senior Emma Weber<\/strong> (58.21) and Cincinnati senior Joleigh Crye<\/strong> (58.59).<\/p>\n
