The Lausanne Swim Cup<\/strong> wrapped up on Sunday with Maxime Grousset, Thomas Ceccon<\/strong> and Marie Wattel<\/strong> among the final-day winners and Noah Verreth<\/strong> again rewriting the Belgian record books.<\/p>\n
Grousset lined up behind the blocks alongside No\u00e8 Ponti<\/strong> with the pair taking gold and silver respectively at the World Championships in Singapore last year.<\/p>\n
The Frenchman was ahead throughout, splitting 23.64\/27.51 to stop the clock in 51.15, 0.32 ahead of Ponti (51.47) with Clement Secchi<\/strong> third (52.25).<\/p>\n
Grousset\u2019s time was the third fastest in 2025 behind his 50.95 rankings topper at the Pro Swim Series in Austin and Shaine Casas\u2019<\/strong> 51.02 in Westmont.\u00a0It followed his 22.78 50 fly blast on Saturday and his 50 free win in 21.78 on the opening night in Lausanne.<\/p>\n
Mary-Sophie Harvey<\/strong> roared back on the second half to win the women\u2019s race in 58.21, 0.05 ahead of Wattel (58.26). It concluded a fine meet for the Canadian who also clinched the IM double and 400 free.<\/p>\n
Wattel upgraded fly silver to 100 free gold when she clawed back a 0.28 deficit at the turn to take the title in 54.17. Florine Gaspard<\/strong> was second in 54.40 with Sofia Astedt<\/strong> next home in 54.99.<\/p>\n
Ceccon won the men\u2019s 50 back in 24.95, although it was a close-run thing with Verreth only 0.03 adrift in 24.98.<\/p>\n
It was a second Belgian record in as many days for Verreth who sliced a whopping 0.22 from the previous standard of 25.20 held by Stan Franckx<\/strong> since April 2024.<\/p>\n
It followed his 100 back record of 54.14 on Saturday.<\/p>\n
