He\u2019ll have company from Americans <strong>Bobby Finke<\/strong> and <strong>Shaine Casas<\/strong> in the A final, though <strong>Leon Marchand<\/strong> isn\u2019t a part of the IM at this event.<\/p>\n<p>Other action from Illinois on Thursday morning:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/stacked-field-set-to-race-at-pro-series-stop-in-westmont-ledecky-vs-mcintosh-in-800-freestyle-psych-sheets\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Psych Sheets<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swmeets.com\/Realtime\/ProSeries\/2026\/Westmont\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Live Results<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/4-storylines-to-watch-at-the-usa-swimming-pro-series-stop-in-westmont\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Four Storylines to Watch<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/pro-swim-series-westmont-day-1-caeleb-dressel-10th-in-50-fly\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Day 1 Prelims Recap<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/pro-swim-series-westmont-day-1-finals-katie-ledecky-swims-808-57-to-defeat-summer-mcintosh-in-800-freestyle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Day 1 Finals Recap<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Women\u2019s 100 breaststroke<\/h4>\n<p>In a battle of Olympic medalists, <strong>Kate Douglass<\/strong> led the way in prelims with a time of 1:06.69. She edged Paris bronze-winner <strong>Mona McSharry,<\/strong> the Irishwoman going 1:07.01. <strong>Sophie Angus<\/strong> was a ways back in 1:08.93 in third for Canada. Two other swimmers broke 1:10, with Argentine <strong>Macarena Ceballos<\/strong> fourth in 1:09.69 and <strong>Skyler Smith<\/strong> fifth.<\/p>\n<p>On the veteran side of things, <strong>Breeja Larson<\/strong> finished seventh in 1:10.43 to make the A final, with <strong>Gabby Rose<\/strong> finishing eighth to sneak into the A final in 1:10.60, by .22 seconds.<\/p>\n<h4>Men\u2019s 100 breaststroke<\/h4>\n<p>Off his win in the 200 breast, <strong>Leon Marchand<\/strong> opted out of the 100 breast. That opened the door for <strong>Jack Kelly<\/strong> to lead the way in 1:00.87. He was a half-second up on <strong>Joshua Staples.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The A final is full of American contenders. <strong>Michael Andrew<\/strong> was fourth in 1:01.78, <strong>Josh Matheny<\/strong> .03 back and <strong>Luke Barr<\/strong> another .06 behind that. The top seed entering the meet, <strong>Denis Petrashov,<\/strong> was seventh in 1:01.96, with fellow international veteran <strong>Michael Houlie<\/strong> of Tennessee eighth .02 back. The other A finalist is <strong>Ian Call,<\/strong> the 17-year-old third in 1:01.69.<\/p>\n<p>Among those missing the A final were <strong>AJ Pouch,<\/strong> who was 11th; Canadian <strong>Apollo Hess<\/strong> in 12th; and <strong>Brian Benzing<\/strong> in 16th.<\/p>\n<h4>Women\u2019s 200 butterfly<\/h4>\n<p>The 200 fly this time around includes <strong>Summer McIntosh<\/strong> but not <strong>Regan Smith.<\/strong> McIntosh was quickest in prelims of 2:08.57. She owns the series record of 2:04.00 set 364 days ago.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s 2.5 seconds back to <strong>Lindsay Looney<\/strong> as the second seed in 2:11.07. <strong>Kelsey Zhang<\/strong> was third in 2:13.47. <strong>Samantha Banos<\/strong> dropped a rare best time in prelims at 2:14.25 for fourth.<\/p>\n<h4>Men\u2019s 200 butterfly<\/h4>\n<p>Without <strong>Leon Marchand<\/strong> in this event, <strong>Gabriel Jett<\/strong> led the way in prelims in 1:57.45, one of seven swimmers under two minutes. Fellow American mainstay <strong>Trenton Julian<\/strong> was third in 1:58.85.<\/p>\n<p>In between was 18-year-old <strong>Berk Erturk<\/strong> in 1:58.68. <strong>Anton Semenyuk,<\/strong> 17, dropped a best time of 1:59.10 for fourth. <strong>David Sammons<\/strong> was fifth, a spot ahead of <strong>Lucas Henveaux.<\/strong> <strong>Jack Dahlgren<\/strong> and <strong>Luke Hobson,<\/strong> in 2:00.86 in exiting his comfort zone, round out the A final.<\/p>\n<p>That leaves no place for <strong>Dare Rose,<\/strong> who finished ninth. Nor for <strong>Harrison Turner,<\/strong> the Aussie who entered as the top seed but finished 10th in 2:01.88.<\/p>\n<h4>Women\u2019s 50 backstroke<\/h4>\n<p><strong>Isabelle Stadden<\/strong> set a best time in prelims of the 50 back, going 27.42 to lead the way. She had been 27.64 in 2023. She was a tenth ahead of <strong>Katharine Berkoff,<\/strong> who entered as the top seed. <strong>Ingrid Wilm<\/strong> of Canada was third in 28.19, with <strong>Tesse Giele<\/strong> followed in 28.41.<\/p>\n<p>On the comeback trail, <strong>Olivia Smoliga<\/strong> was fifth in 28.42. <strong>Celia Pulido, Rhyan White<\/strong> and <strong>Phoebe Bacon<\/strong> rounded out the top eight, with Bacon in 28.51 to seal it.<\/p>\n<h4>Men\u2019s 50 backstroke<\/h4>\n<p>Auburn\u2019s <strong>Ivan Tarasov<\/strong> led the way in prelims at 25.19, edging his fellow Tiger <strong>Kalle Makinen<\/strong> by .13 seconds. Makinen set a best time of 25.32.<\/p>\n<p>Third place went to Bermudian <strong>Jack Harvey<\/strong> in 25.40, .01 up on a tie between <strong>Michael Andrew<\/strong> and <strong>Ruslan Gaziev. Blake Tierney<\/strong> gave Canada a second A finalist in eighth. Top seed entering the meet, <strong>Guilherme Basseto,<\/strong> was just 13th in 26.06.<\/p>\n<h4>Women\u2019s 400 individual medley<\/h4>\n<p>The 400 IM this time around includes <strong>Regan Smith<\/strong> but not <strong>Summer McIntosh,<\/strong> Smith also eschewing the 50 back for the longer race.<\/p>\n<p>Smith was second in 4:43.34, .15 seconds behind the top seed taken down by <strong>Emma Weyant. Agostina Hein<\/strong> of Argentina grabbed the third spot in 4:46.46, with <strong>Kayla Han<\/strong> fourth in 4:8.25. <strong>Lea Polonsky<\/strong> was sixth, <strong>Isabelle Odgers<\/strong> eighth.
