National Centre Limerick\u2019s <strong>Denis O\u2019Brien<\/strong>\u00a0won bronze in 8:34.62.<\/p>\n<p><strong>John Shortt<\/strong> won the 50 back in 25.32, the second fastest of his career 0.26 off his 25.06 PB en-route to bronze at the 2025 World Junior Championships where he also won the 100\/200 backstroke double. Edinburgh University\u2019s <strong>Scott Gibson<\/strong> won silver in 25.70 with Shortt\u2019s National Centre Limerick team-mate <strong>Paddy Johnston<\/strong> taking bronze in 25.97.<\/p>\n<p>Italian <strong>Federico Poggio<\/strong>, who trains at National Centre Dublin, won the\u00a0men\u2019s 100m breaststroke\u00a0in 1:01.01. National Centre Limerick\u2019s <strong>Eoin Corby<\/strong> won silver in 1:01.97 with bronze going to University of Stirling\u2019s <strong>Rory Dickson<\/strong> in 1:02.74.<\/p>\n<p>European U23 Champion\u00a0<strong>Ellie McCartney<\/strong> claimed the title in the\u00a0women\u2019s equivalent. McCartney\u00a0of National Centre Limerick\u00a0held off\u00a0Edinburgh University\u2019s <strong>Kara Hanlon<\/strong> to win in 1:07.54 to 1:07.95. University of Limerick\u2019s <strong>Eimear Doyle<\/strong> won bronze in 1:10.36.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Grace Davison<\/strong> of Ards\u00a0was the only swimmer under 56 seconds in the women\u2019s 100 free. DSI\u2019s <strong>Petra Halmai<\/strong> took bronze in 29.46.<\/p>\n<p>Chloe Stewart of Bangor, 14, and 16-year-old Julia Dziedzic of Aer Lingus were separated by 0.14 in the 400IM. Stewart got the touch in 5:02.38 just ahead of Dziedzic\u2019s 5:02.52. Swim England\u2019s Lexie O\u2019Connor won bronze in 5:04.92<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nina Mani<\/strong> of Swim Regio Solothurn won the first distance race of the weekend, clocking 18.00.24 in the women\u2019s 1500 free.<\/p>\n<p>Ards\u2019 quartet of Davison, McCartney, Johnston, and <strong>Daniel Harvey<\/strong> set a new Irish club record of 3:58.47 in the mixed 4x100m medley relay and became the first Irish club to break the four-minute mark in the event.<\/p>\n<p>UCD won the women\u2019s 4&#215;200 free in 8:40.13 with Limerick taking the men\u2019s event in 7:54.58.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Duncan Scott &amp;
