It would be the first of two pool records and two meet records to go by the wayside for the session.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anna Moesch<\/strong> set the pool record <a href=\"https:\/\/www.swimmingworldmagazine.com\/news\/anna-moesch-joins-sub-140-club-with-no-3-all-time-200-free\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">by becoming just the fourth woman to break 1:40 in the 200 freestyle in college competition<\/a>, and <strong>Henry McFadden<\/strong> of Stanford downed <strong>Luke Miller\u2019s<\/strong> meet mark in the 200 free from 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Moesch helped Virginia stretch its lead to more than 100 points in the team category as the Cavaliers chase a seventh consecutive team title. The Stanford senior won the race in 3:59.11, clipping .22 seconds off the ACC Championships mark set at 3:59.33 by <strong>Ella Nelson<\/strong> in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>Bell needed all that to get past <strong>Katie Grimes,<\/strong> the Virginia sophomore who went 3:59.80 to finish second. Bell was up six tenths at the 300-yard mark before Grimes trimmed about half of that deficit on the seventh 50. Bell had the strength coming home, though.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia still built its lead, though. <strong>Aimee Canny<\/strong> was third in 4:02.35. <strong>Sophia Umstead<\/strong> rose from seventh in prelims to fourth, and <strong>Leah Hayes<\/strong> was fifth. <strong>Caroline Bricker,<\/strong> the top seed entering the meet, was just seventh for Stanford. His best time had been a 3:42.22 entering the meet, but the Stanford senior summarily dashed that.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ryan Erisman<\/strong> gave him a push, going 3:38.94 for second place for Cal. Both were under the pool record set at NCAAs in 2022 by <strong>Kate Douglass. <\/strong>Huske\u2019s time was .01 off the meet mark that <strong>Gretchen Walsh<\/strong> set in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Huske won it on the first 50, going out in 22.20. He came home with just enough to hold off the last-25 charge of <strong>Thomas Heilman,<\/strong> who took second in 44.16.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Julian Koch<\/strong> of Pitt was third in 44.56. That\u2019s the pool record, trouncing the 1:41.12 of Stanford\u2019s <strong>Taylor Ruck<\/strong> at NCAAs in 2022. She is just outside of the meet record of <strong>Gretchen Walsh<\/strong> (1:39.34) in 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Virginia went 1-2-4-6. <strong>Madi Mintenko<\/strong> finished second in 1:41.52. <strong>Bailey Hartman<\/strong> was fourth, <strong>Cavan Gormsen<\/strong> sixth.<\/p>\n<p>In between was <strong>Claire Weinstein,<\/strong> who jumped from fifth in prelims to third in 1:42.40. <strong>Carmen Weiler Sastre<\/strong> of Virginia Tech was fifth in 1:43.14. It was enough to get in at 1:31.05, trimming the 1:13.16 that<strong> Luke Miller<\/strong> of NC State set in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Second was <strong>Logan Robinson<\/strong> of Florida State, who closed in 22.92 to get second in 1:31.18. <strong>Kaii Winkler<\/strong> of NC State was third in 1:31.27.
