Breaststroke men during the  Paris 2024 Olympic Games at La Defense Arena in Paris (France), July 27, 2024.&lt;\/p&gt;\n\" data-medium-file=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/20240727_Sca_GS12676-700x500.jpg\" data-large-file=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/20240727_Sca_GS12676-1024x683.jpg\" class=\" wp-image-594246\" src=\"https:\/\/vmrw8k5h.tinifycdn.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/20240727_Sca_GS12676-700x500.jpg\" alt=\"Caspar Corbeau\" width=\"282\" height=\"202\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-594246\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Caspar Corbeau: Photo Courtesy: Deepbluemedia<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Caspar Corbeau<\/strong> continued his fine early-year form with two trips to the podium a week after he swept the breaststroke events at last week\u2019s <strong>Geneva International Challenge<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The 50 was first up where <strong>Melvin Imoudu<\/strong> took the touch in 27.14 followed by <strong>Federico Poggio<\/strong> (27.22) and Corbeau (27.36).<\/p>\n<p>The Netherlands swimmer returned for the 200 breast which was the final event of the evening where he couldn\u2019t be separated from <strong>Filip Nowacki<\/strong> at halfway with the pair turning in 1:01.94.<\/p>\n<p>Corbeau pulled away with a 33.40 third 50 and despite Nowacki slightly reducing the deficit on the last length, the Olympic bronze medallist took the win in 2:09.29.<\/p>\n<p>Nowacki, the world and European junior champion, clocked 2:09.96 with clear water separating the pair from <strong>Maksym Ovchinnikov<\/strong> in third (2:12.73).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellie McCartney<\/strong> came past <strong>Tes Schouten<\/strong> on the final 50 to claim the women\u2019s 200 breaststroke. Schouten, amid her return to competition following a lengthy absence because of health issues, led from the off and was 0.07 ahead at the final turn.<\/p>\n<p>A 37.29 last 50 propelled the Irishwoman to the front for a clear victory in 2:26.14. Schouten \u2013 a stablemate of Corbeau and Gaspard in Antwerp \u2013 was second in 2:28.56 with <strong>Imogen Myles<\/strong> of England third in 2:28.59.<\/p>\n<h3>Victories for Matt Richards &amp; Freya Colbert<\/h3>\n<p>Olympic silver medallist <strong>Matt Richards<\/strong> led throughout the 200 free with world junior champion<strong> Carlos D\u2019Ambrosio<\/strong> on his toes.
